Video Editing, Final Cut Pro, Introductory Level

Come learn how to edit your home movies, video projects and P.S.A.'s like the professionals.  You’ll learn digital editing in our state-of-the-art Apple G5 lab. From beginning to end, Certified Apple Pro instructor Joshua Bloodworth will give you the tools you need to edit polished, fun and dynamic video projects. We’ll cover basics all the way to adding special effects and text. All skill levels welcome, no experience necessary.

Fall 2012 Class Schedule:  This 8-week class runs from 5 PM - 6 PM on Tuesday evenings, including September 25, October 2, 9, 16, 23,30, November 6 and 13.


Fee: $100 for members and $160 for non-members (includes 1 year membership).  Registration is limited.


Video Editing, Final Cut Pro, Intermediate/Advanced Level

This class is designed for those who wish to expand their editing skills. Certified Apple Pro instructor Joshua Bloodworth will give you the tools to take your editing skills to the next level by learning advanced audio and video techniques as well as techniques to create special effects. Open only to those who have completed RCTV's Basics of Editing or its Documentary Film Making Class.


Class Time:  Class dates and times to be determined, based on interest and are usually offered after the beginning class ends.  If this is a class you would like to take, please contact our receptionist or Joshua Bloodworth.


Fee: $100 for members and $160 for non-members (included 1 year membership).  Registration is limited.

 


 

TV Studio Production Class


Learn how to use our new studio production equipment, including switcher, teleprompter and character generator. Have fun while learning to operate TV cameras and audio equipment. Manage the studio floor and/or serve as host. Pick a topic and produce a program. RCTV staff will work with you to create 30 minute live studio talk show programs. Students who successfully complete the class will be certified to use the studio at no cost. Class size limited to 12. No experience necessary. Ages 15 to Adult. Instructors: Carvin Eison and Rick Osborne. Students who have successfully completed the class are encouraged to repeat it, to learn directing skills.  

 

Spring 2012 Class Schedule: Classes have started and run through April.

OTHER CLASSES, COMING SOON:


Documentary Filmmaking Class


Become part of a club for those interested and involved in producing and working on documentaries as well as those who are interested in learning the technique.  Discuss successful documentaries and review techniques. Screen each others’ works.  Share filming and editing techniques,  how to do research and conduct interviews. Discover contests in which you can enter your work, which can also be shown on RCTV and beyond. Hands-on technical assistance provided by RCTV staff.

Class Schedule:

Fall 2012 Class Schedule:  Alternate Wednesdays from 6-7:30 PM, beginning September 26.

   (16 classes total, running across 32 weeks; holiday weeks excluded)

Fee: $200 for members and $260 for Non-members(includes 1 year membership).  Participants will have use of lending library equipment and computer editing lab.  Payment may be made in two installments.  Registration is limited.

Field Production
:
Learn how to operate a hand held camera and practice techniques to improve framing, composition, sound and lighting. Instructors: Carvin Eison and Josh Bloodworth. Starting date: to be determined.


Youth Classes: RCTV sponsors a variety of clubs and workshops for Rochester youth, ages 12 to 17. There is generally no charge for these classes. Students work with both hand held cameras and in the studio.  Students learn camera, audio, directing, producing and hosting skills.  Students design their messages and produce TV programs.  Meeting times are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/ or Thursday afternoons.  Call the station at 325-1238 for more information.
